Driver's Licence

• Minimum age 18 for most classes (varies slightly by vehicle class)
• Must complete training at an FRSC-accredited driving school and hold a certificate number

• Online at nigeriadriverslicence.frsc.gov.ng for the application itself
• An FRSC-accredited driving school for mandatory training
• An FRSC Drivers Licence Centre (DLC) near you for biometric capture
• Commercial licences and diplomatic licences cannot start on the portal — visit a capture centre or FRSC HQ directly

   Enrol in an accredited driving school

   Confirm the school is on the FRSC-accredited list before paying anything. Complete training and the exit test.

   Get your driving school certificate number

   This number is required to start the online application — applications without it are rejected.

   Start the application online

   On the portal, choose 'New Driver's Licence Application', enter your certificate number, and fill the 4-part form: personal details, contact details, processing centre & licence type, review & pay.

   Pick your processing centre and pay

   Choose the DLC nearest you, generate a payment reference and pay via card or Remita/bank channel.

5. 5

   Print your acknowledgement slip

   This doubles as your temporary licence until the physical card is ready.

   Attend biometric capture in person

   Fingerprints, photo and signature are captured at your chosen DLC. This step cannot be done by proxy.

Track your application status by logging into nigeriadriverslicence.frsc.gov.ng, or verify an issued licence at ndlverification.frsc.gov.ng.

• ✕Training at a driving school that isn't FRSC-accredited
• ✕Skipping the VIO/state vehicle test requirement in some states
• ✕Sending someone else to the biometric appointment — this is not allowed
• ✕Paying inflated 'agent' fees far above the published FRSC rate
